Increasingly medical schools are offering Graduate Entry into Medicine (GEM) courses to mature students; recognising the valuable contribution to be made by candidates who are currently pursuing degrees other than medicine or who may already have a career or be a homemaker. Whilst entry at age 18 has merit, it is recognised that graduate applicants are able to bring a maturity and ‘life experience’ to their role as medical student and then doctor, that can make a significant contribution to their role as future clinicians. It is the purpose of this conference to ensure that you have information and contacts of the highest quality to help you decide if a GEM course is for you, and if it is how to identify and then select the GEM course most appropriate to you.
